  4. Applications of two epoxy putty with spatula and brush
  5. Finish with sandpaper and mechanical tool.

5- Bonding fiberglass pipes with structural adhesives – FPSO

Bonding fiberglass pipes with structural adhesives - FPSOPolinova S.A. provides structural adhesives PoliCeramica PoliCeramica 3000 and PoliAncor 4100 for bonding equipment made from fiberglass in O&G industry. To supply this type of product, customers require before performance testing and structural reliability. Recently Polinova S.A. provided 600kg of PoliCeramica 3000 for bonding fiberglass pipes of FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba, owned by Petrobras.

6- Cold weld repair in an evaporator of pulp and paper ind.

An important Brazilian pulp and paper industry sought Polinova S.A. an adhesive capable of performing cold welding of a plate on the side of the evaporator in operation (70°C). The crew of Polinova developed in 30 days the cold welding that does not cure at room temperature, allowing the application to large areas without curing, but when heated initiates the healing process. The size and shape of the bonded area were also calculated by the Polinova technical team. The product, called polymetallic 2040, is in portfolio of Polinova S.A.

7- Cold weld of supports of H2S sensors – FPSO

Service realized by Polinova’s technical team, using the cold weld PoliMetalico 2000. Steps:

  1. Chemical cleaning
  2. Surface treatment with mechanical tool
  3. Application the cold weld with spatula.

Observation:
1- It was possible to fix 28 supports in 2 days without necessary to stop the production, because the process to apply the cold weld does not generate spark.

8- Internal coating of Nutcha filter

Service of internal coating of Nutcha filter against corrosion and abrasion. The equipment work with high agressive solutions, providing chemical attack and abrasion damaged, creating voids and less thickness. It was applied PoliCeramica 6010 to coating the filter. Steps:

  1. Chemical cleaning
  2. Surface treatment with blast
  3. Application of 2 layers of PoliCeramica 6010 with spatula.
